The Gear uses a gecko-inspired micro-suction surface ·no glue, no residue. It holds firmly during play and lifts off cleanly. Designed for hundreds of attach/detach cycles. A wet finger gently rubbing the surface restores grip if needed.

Gel and film: yes. Thin, flexible, the touch passes straight through. Tempered glass: usually yes. Cracked tempered glass: often not. Micro-fractures scatter the contact your screen is trying to read. Chipped or spidered? Replace it before you blame the controller.

Check touch sensitivity first. Most phones ship with a screen-protector mode, and most ship with it switched off. Turning it on fixes the majority of cases. The other cause is multi-touch. Playtiles needs a few contact points at once. Modern phones don't blink at it. Some older ones register fewer, and there certain button combinations won't land together.

Yes! PlaytilesOS supports sideloading. Download any compatible game file and drop it into the OS to play with your controller, perfect for game jams, prototypes, or personal projects.

Playtiles is designed for players 14+ and hasn't been certified for child safety. While the games are accessible, the product itself is not a toy.
